HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Brandon Ellis scored 19 points and Jeremy Crutcher added 16 points and nine assists as Alabama A&M defeated Jackson State 72-59 on Thursday night.
Arthur Capers and Justan Banks added 13 points apiece and Banks also had a season-high 13 rebounds along with four blocks for the Bulldogs (12-15, 9-8).
Javeres Brent led the Tigers (11-18, 7-10) with 11 points.
Alabama A&M led the entire way. It had a 38-27 lead at halftime that it would extend to 17 with 3:55 left in the game.
Though the Bulldogs were edged 37-35 in rebounding, they still outscored Jackson State 24-12 in the paint.
Alabama A&M shot 43.1 percent (22 of 51) for the game and 82.1 percent (23 of 28) from the free-throw line.
Jackson State managed just 16-of-51 shooting for 31.4 percent.
