Travis McKie added 19 points in his final scheduled home game for the Demon Deacons, who are 16-14 overall, 6-11 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Coach K experienced enough dizziness and light-headedness to force him to kneel during a late timeout and skip his postgame news conference, although an assistant says he expects the Hall of Famer to make a complete recovery.

DALLAS (AP) —Defending national champion Louisville became the first opponent to win in SMU's renovated home, beating the 18th-ranked Mustangs 84-71. Russ Smith scored 22 of his 26 points after halftime, including six 3-pointers.

UNDATED (AP)— In advance of the NHL trading deadline, Tampa Bay dealt its unhappy captain Martin St. Louis (mar-TAN' san loo-EE') to the New York Rangers for their rugged captain, Ryan Callahan. Also, the Montreal Canadiens picked up high-scoring forward Thomas Vanek from the New York Islanders for a prospect, second-round pick and conditional fifth-round selection.

NEW YORK (AP) — The NCAA football rules committee has sacked a proposal that would have penalized offenses for snapping the ball before 10 seconds had run off the 40-second play clock. NCAA national coordinator of officials Rogers Redding said the NCAA received 324 comments on the issue, with 75 percent opposing the change.
