(KSL News) The amount of carbon dioxide being released by the nation's power plants grew 3 percent last year, and Utah is among the top offenders.
The Environmental Integrity Project looked at more than 1,000 coal-burning, natural gas and oil power plants in the country.
Without taking into account, the amount of power produced, plants in Texas, Ohio, Florida, Indiana and Pennsylvania released the most carbon dioxide last year.
However, Utah is in the top five states which released the most C02 per megawatt of power it generated.
