LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Northern Utah may soon contain part of a natural gas pipeline going from Wyoming to Oregon.

Ruby Pipeline is looking at running part of the 680-mile the line through Rich, Cache and Box Elder counties. The route is one of several being considered, but the company says they favor the Utah plan over one that would take the line through Idaho.

The $2 billion project would move 1.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day.

Ruby representatives will explain the possible plan at an open house in Logan Tuesday night. The company says a final decision on the route will be made in coming months.
