(KSL News) Some major car accidents forced the closure of I-15 in Box Elder County today. Icy roads caused several cars to spin out and roll over.

Traffic began backing up behind the accidents, and fog started rolling in off Willard Bay, which caused even more problems.

Aaron Beesley, with the Utah Highway Patrol, said, "Due to the traffic backing up, ice on the road, fog rolling in, people are going too fast for the conditions and caused 22 cars to crash into each other, separating them out into six different crashes."

Six people were taken to the hospital, several of whom were in serious condition.
