SALT LAKE CITY — Police have made an arrest nearly two months after a man was fatally stabbed outside a Salt Lake City homeless shelter.
Salt Lake City police announced Friday the arrest of Natalie Fern Bluehouse, 50, for investigation of the Nov. 20 stabbing death of an Arizona man.
Bluehouse turned herself in to police and told officers she stabbed Willie D. Hollingsworth, 49, while intoxicated, according to jail documents.
Hollingsworth was found on the northeast corner of the shelter, 210 S. Rio Grande, with an unknown medical problem. It wasn't until he was examined by doctors at the hospital that they discovered he had been stabbed in the abdomen, according to police. He later died.
A search of court records indicates Bluehouse has a long history of alcohol-related misdemeanor offenses dating back to 2002. She pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in 2008, as well as attempted possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person and aggravated assault in 2010.
Bluehouse was named a suspect in the stabbing Tuesday.
