Sato, Foyt teaming up for another IndyCar season

WALLER, Texas (AP) - A.J. Foyt is keeping his team together for a second straight IndyCar season.

On Tuesday, the team owner and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner said driver Takuma Sato, chief engineer Don Halliday and performance engineer Raul Prados will all be back in 2014.

The Japanese driver won at Long Beach, giving Foyt's team its first victory since 2002. He also took the pole at Houston, giving Foyt's team its first pole since Billy Boat won it at Indianapolis in 2008. Sato acknowledged there's a special bond with this team that has given him a confidence boost.

Foyt said the team he believes the continuity will help his team improve.

Foyt also announced he had successful knee replacement surgery Dec. 12. He had hip replacement surgery in July.
