PRAGUE (AP) - An online exchange that trades the digital currency bitcoin in the Czech Republic says it has been attacked by hackers.
The website Bitcash.cz says its security system was broken and bitcoins from its clients were stolen late Monday.
It said in a statement Tuesday it has filed a legal complaint against the unknown hackers. It is not clear what amount of bitcoins disappeared and how many clients were affected by the theft.
Bitcoin is a cryptography-based digital currency that advocates say is counterfeit-proof.
Its price traded as high as $385 Tuesday afternoon.
