Marc Giauque ReportingProtests will accompany the opening of "The Da Vinci Code" across the country, including here in Utah.
"It's just blasphemy. It's just not true, but people are taking it as truth," says a protestor.
The movie's premise that Jesus married and even had children doesn't sit well with some Christian and Catholic groups. In Utah, at least three protests are planned on opening day by people who say they're offended by the idea, and by the fact that someone's making a Hollywood production of it.
Some who've read the book, aren't so worried.
"I think it's a nice work of fiction people are taking it too seriously. I think the church should do better than get all up in arms," says one movie goer.
Local protestors tell KSL they know they won't stop many people from attending, but they hope to send a message that the movie is fiction.
