SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Mobile-home owners in Utah would get protection from sudden evictions under a bill passed by the Legislature.
The bill is on its way to Gov. Jon Huntsman. It would give people nine months to move their homes after a park is sold. That's up from 90 days under current law.
House Bill 48 would prohibit owners from raising rents after a sale to clear out parks more quickly. Many mobile-home parks in Utah have been turned into pricey subdivisions.
Huntsman's office says he doesn't have a position on the bill.
