Tom Callan reportingViolence mars a trip on a UTA bus in South Salt Lake.

A woman was tossing a ball at several passengers on board the bus yesterday morning. When the bus driver told her to stop, the woman allegedly tried to choke the driver with a microphone cord.

The ride ended at 3500 South and 1200 West. Police were called, and the suspect, Regina Tyler, now faces charges of assault.
