(KSL News) A Utah Highway Patrol Trooper responding to a debris call was involved in an early morning accident.
UHP received a call just after 4:00 this morning on a large amount of tree limbs in the middle of I-15 at 7500 South.
The responding trooper was waiting in the emergency lane when another vehicle swerved to miss the debris and crashed right into the trooper.
The Highway Patrol says this serves as a reminder.
Sgt. Jeff Plank, Utah Highway Patrol: "It was dark. But if you do see a trooper's lights on, you should slow down, pull over, be cautious."
Neither the trooper nor the other driver were seriously injured. But both cars were totalled. The driver was cited.
