GARDEN CITY — A boater on Bear Lake was cut on his leg by a propeller Friday afternoon.

The operator of the boat had mistakenly thought the boat was in neutral when the incident occurred, according to Utah State Parks representative Eugene Swalberg. The propeller struck a 30-year-old male from Idaho Falls.

The injured man was transported to the Logan Regional Medical Center by ambulance after the accident occurred at around 3:15 p.m. The man was in stable condition after receiving treatment.

Utah State Parks Boating Program Manager, Ty Hunter, cautioned boaters to be aware of marine stressors and distraction such as extreme heat, sun glare off the water, and vibration and noise of a boat's motor.
