UDOT to begin significant construction projects this weekend

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Transportation has advised drivers to plan ahead for construction projects starting this weekend through September.

The following closures are subject to change due to weather or other delays, but UDOT will have the latest updates on their website and "UDOT Traffic" app.

I-80/I-215 interchange near the Salt Lake City International Airport, ramp closures: Construction crews are scheduled to close select ramps on I-80 and I-215 near the Salt Lake City International Airport each night from Aug. 2–4 from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

If traveling to the airport, use I-15 or Bangerter Highway.

These closures will allow crews to continue concrete repairs on freeway ramps.

I-15 from Lehi Main Street to 2100 North, lane restrictions:I-15 is scheduled to be reduced to two lanes in both directions starting Friday, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. to Monday, Aug. 5, at 6 a.m., and every weekend through Sept.

Drivers should plan ahead for heavy delays of up to one hour Saturday afternoon and up to 45 minutes Sunday evening.

These lane restrictions will allow crews to perform bridge maintenance and other maintenance to extend the life of the roadway.

I-15 at St. George Boulevard Interchange, bridge demolition:Traffic will be diverted to the on- and off-ramps at the St. George Boulevard interchange from Thursday, Aug. 8, through Saturday, Aug. 10. Southbound I-15 will be closed Thursday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Northbound I-15 will be closed Friday night from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and I-15 will be closed in both directions on Saturday night from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Drivers should use the Dixie Drive Exit, No. 5, or the Green Spring Drive Exit, No. 10, to access St. George Boulevard.

These closures will allow crews demolish the bridge over I-15.

Redwood Road in West Jordan, road maintenance:Redwood Road from 6600 South to 9000 South is scheduled for lane restrictions beginning Monday, Aug. 5 through Sept., seven days a week. This section of road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and it will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 6 p.m. to midnight.

These restrictions will allow crews to complete concrete pavement maintenance.
