SALT LAKE CITY — LDS Business College has been named a "model of efficiency" by University Business magazine, school officials announced Wednesday.

The private, two-year school based in Salt Lake City was one of eight colleges and universities in the U.S. to be honored by the magazine.

Under a revamped career services program in 2012, 13 career development milestones were incorporated into course curricula at LDS Business College, designed to better prepare students for careers, school officials said.

"LDSBC’s new career development business model is an industry game changer,” Tim Goral, senior editor of University Business, said in a prepared statement. “The revamped career education program’s improvements serve as a great role model for other higher ed institutions to follow.”

LDS Business College is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a unit of the Church Education System. It currently enrolls about 2,200 students, according to the school's website.
