SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah State University will receive a $5 million gift earmarked to directly benefit undergraduate and graduate student scholarships.
The donation comes from the S.J. and Jessie Quinney Foundation. About $2 million will go directly to scholarships distributed through the Quinney Scholars program in USU's College of Natural Resources.
Another $1.2 million will support the Natural Resources Library which also carries the Quinney's name. The college-specific library houses more than 60,000 items. The balance will underwrite program development projects including bio-regional planning and Utah's river and riparian restoration.
