SALT LAKE CITY — The Wednesday's Child of the week is a 16-year-old girl hoping to become a cosmetologist someday. But first, she got to enjoy a glamour shoot of her own.

Kristen was able to get pampered for a day when Hazen Photography set up a photo shoot for her. Kristen said she loves to do hair and makeup, but that it was nice to have someone else do it for her for a change.

"I've never done a photo shoot before, so it was kind of exciting," she said.

Kristen is a junior in high school and said she also loves school and reading.

"I like the subjects like English," she said. "That's my favorite subject."

Her favorite book is the classic novel "The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck.

Kristen also said that along with cosmetology, she would love to be involved in social work when she is older. She is currently in a group home in foster care, and she hopes that she will get adopted soon.

"I want the family that I never got," she said. "A mom and a dad and kind of like going to soccer games or sitting around to eat at the table, like having a prayer and just eating together and talking about anything."
