(KSL News) The Utah Avalanche Center says even though we haven't had many new storms, the avalanche danger in upper-elevation areas is still high.

The center says weak snow from earlier in the season is staying on the ground, increasing the likelihood for slides. Snowmobilers are advised to use extreme caution in the western Uinta mountains.

There is less of a threat in the central Wasatch region from Ogden to Provo, but winds in the higher elevation areas could still cause avalanches.
