Carole Mikita reportingThe Sundance Film Festival will hold its Salt Lake premiere tonight at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.
Amy Redford is making her Sundance Film Festival debut as director and one of the producers of "The Guitar". It premiered this afternoon in Park City.
She says she was very comfortable directing these actors. "It was a real collaboration. I think because I come from an acting background, I think I was probably sensitive to what that process is for actors. It was a very intimate story, and the place that we shot was also very intimate. It was a very isolated loft, and so we did come together like a family."
"The Guitar" is the story of a young New York City woman who has a lackluster job and boyfriend. She finds out she has terminal cancer and only has months to live.
Tonight's premiere is titled "The Great Buck Howard." The movie stars John Malkovich, Tom Hanks and his son Colin, and Emily Blunt.
We're waiting for the arrival of the director and cast members, and will have more on that tonight on Eyewitness News at 10.
