Alex Cabrero reportingThere have been five bank robberies in Utah in four days, and police think one man may be responsible. So far, no one has been hurt in any of the robberies, but police are worried if the crimes continue, that could change.
Today's robbery happened at the Wells Fargo bank at 3300 South and State Street in South Salt Lake. Police are working on a few clues, but as far as we know right now, detectives don't know who the robber is. However, officers hope pictures will help identify him.

A bank robbery in St. George, two in Salt Lake City, and two in South Salt Lake. From bank video cameras, police say the robber in all of them looks like the same guy. They think it's the same person not only because of his similar look in all five robberies, but because of how each robbery happened.
Gary Keller of the South Salt Lake Police Department said, "There's a lot of similarities between yesterday's robbery, this robbery, the one in St. George, and the one in Salt Lake City."

Today, the robber targeted the Wells Fargo bank in South Salt Lake at the corner of State Street and 3300 South. Yesterday, he hit the Brighton Bank less than a block down the road.
"Again, passed a note demanding cash, and the teller complied and turned over an undetermined amount of cash to him," Keller said.

Investigators have a picture of the man from today's robbery, from yesterday's, from a Key Bank robbery in Salt Lake City, and from the Beehive Federal Credit Union in St. George on Monday. In all, that's five banks in four days.
FBI Special Agent Juan Becerra said, "Our concern right now is the urgency, or the frequency of these robberies, and how they're happening so quickly and in such a short span of time."

In the latest robbery, the man did something that didn't happen in the previous four. "He did raise his sweatshirt and did display a handgun," Keller said. "He had a handgun in his waistband."
That definitely has police concerned that the robber is getting more aggressive. Again, detectives can't say for sure if all five robberies involve the same man, but they say right now it sure looks like it.
