(KSL News) U.S. Census data shows the San Juan, Piute and Ogden school districts had Utah's highest percentages of children living in poverty in 2005. In fact, one out of every three students in the San Juan School District lived in poverty.
A seven-year average showed that the Salt Lake School District has a higher percentage of poor children than both the Piute and Ogden school districts.
The data is used by the Department of Education to help determine federal funding for local schools.
