(KSL News) -- A 91 year-old woman is in the hospital after police found evidence her son cooked methamphetamine in her house.
Dan Pearson, South Jordan Chief of Police: "At various times throughout the past few weeks, there's been extremely strong chemical odors, strong enough that it could bring tears to your eyes kind of thing."
Police arrested 63-year-old Michael Mckane after searching the house.
The house has been under investigation for several days, but police moved in after learning of the woman's condition. Inside they found chemicals used to make methamphetamine.
Dan Pearson, South Jordan Chief of Police: "We do know that her health has been very good prior to him moving into the home. So we have some serious concerns there."
Police say they aren't sure if the mother's condition is directly related to the drugs found in the house.
