ST. GEORGE — A woman was uninjured Friday morning after an accident in which her car flipped over a median just outside of St. George.
The incident occurred at about 8 a.m. when a woman driving along Snow Canyon Parkway near the Entrada subdivision drifted into the median. That caused her to lose control of her vehicle, which flipped and landed in oncoming lanes, according to St. George Police spokesperson Cpt. James Van Fleet.
The driver, in her mid-30s, was uninjured in the accident despite not wearing a seat belt at the time. Van Fleet said that she was standing, walking and talking with emergency personnel when they arrived.
A photo submitted through ksl.com's iWitness app shows the vehicle laying upside down in oncoming lanes, with significant damage, especially to the rear passenger wheel.
The accident was quickly cleaned up and traffic returned to normal flow.
Van Fleet said it does not appear that distractions like cell phones were a factor in the crash, and neither was alcohol or any mind-altering substance.
"It seems it may just be a little bit of inattention," Van Fleet said.
The driver was cited for improper lane travel.
