Paul Nelson, KSL Newsradio, and KSL News reportingA fire at a business in Orem overnight may be arson and part of a recent rash of business burglaries.
Fire crews responded to a report of smoke at a strip mall near 300 East and University Parkway. They found a business known Spherion was on fire.
Orem Fire Battalion Chief Don Rieske says they contained the fire within the records room of the building.
Spherion Area Manager Ron Zarbock says there isn't any valuable information back there, so he's not sure if someone specifically targeting those files.
"We don't really have any information that we have that wouldn't be easily accessible through any way of just doing a background check," Zarbock says.
He says the burglars rummaged through his desk, but he says there's nothing valuable there either.
This is the latest business break-in in Orem in recent days involving a similar method of entry. Investigators are trying to determine if the fire was part of a cover-up.
They are looking for suspects.
