I think that fall, with the leaves turning yellow, orange, and red, is the best time to visit Log Haven restaurant in Millcreek Canyon. It’s only a few miles up the Millcreek Canyon from Salt Lake – about a 12 minute drive – and the trip itself at this time of year is a special treat.

It’s also a terrific time to visit Log Haven because since Executive Chef Frank Mendoza came aboard in the spring, the menu and the flavors at Log Haven are better than they’ve ever been.

Well, this Monday, October 17th, would be an especially good time for dining at Log Haven. Because you’ll be able to howl at the moon during Log Haven’s Full Moon Evening on Monday. For the Full Moon dinner at Log Haven, guests will enjoy a three-course meal of Chef Mendoza’s inspired cuisine, along with poetry readings in the restaurant. You see, besides being Executive Chef, Frank Mendoza is also Log Haven’s in-house Poet Laureate. He’ll read poems during dinner along with two other local poets who’ll take over while Frank is cooking.

The Fall Full Moon Evening at Log Haven is $45 per person for the autumn-inspired three course dinner and reservations are highly recommended.

Poetry, Frank Mendoza’s cooking, the spectacular natural setting and ambiance of Log Haven and a full moon – now that’s something to howl about!
