BOUNTIFUL — Police officers who don't usually get to spend quality time with kids doing 'good,' got the chance to on Saturday at the store.

It was the annual "Shop with a Cop" program that pairs police officers with children in need of a little Christmas cheer.

The kids were able to pick out a few gifts at Wal-Mart that they wanted for themselves with their own personal shopping buddy. And, the officers help them pick out a few items they "need." Plus, the kids get to do a little shopping for their families for Christmas as well.

"You really see the giving spirit in the kids that they aren't just thinking of themselves," said Sgt. Dave Quinley. "They are thinking of their families as well. And its nice to see that in a person who is so young."

Along with shopping, the children got to meet with Santa Clause who arrived at Wal-Mart in a helicopter.

This program also gives police officers the chance to build relationships with the kids.
