Thanksgiving and college football.

These are definitely two of my favorite things this time of year. And if I just didn’t have to work on Thanksgiving day then the week would be complete. Of course the rivalry game (BYU vs. Utah for those living under a rock) has big implications for both schools as far as bowl invitations and the conference championship. But I think most fans would agree with me that this game means so much more than that. It’s the sense of pride and joy that lasts the entire year knowing their team won the game. Of course basketball season is great as well…but winning the football game just has a different flavor. One that either takes sweet or bitter, and it’s a taste you just can’t get out of your mouth. For the common fan Saturday will be another excitement filled game. For the true fan it’s a sense of identity. And of course we all will feast in anticipation giving thanks before the battle begins.
