MANDEVILLE, La. — When 8-year-old Ashley and her family evacuated their Louisiana home to avoid Hurricane Isaac, Ashley was concerned for the safety of her stuffed animals.
So she left instructions for them, including the admonition to "take a buddy" to the bathroom and a stern warning: "No partys."
"A future leader in the making" is how her father, Greg Taylor, described her.
