SALT LAKE CITY — Summer is winding down and school is back in session, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of awesome things happening throughout the state. Check out the list below for a sampling of what the Beehive State has to offer this week.

Salt Lake Valley

  • Aug. 27: $5 admission after 5 p.m. at Tracy Aviary, Liberty Park in Salt Lake. Aviary is open until 8 p.m.
  • Aug. 27–31: Salt Lake Bees vs. Tucson Padres at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Games begin at 7:05 p.m. More info here.
  • Aug. 27–30: Peace of Nature photography exhibit at the City Library. Free admission. More info here.
  • Aug. 28: Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Luncheon at Asian Star, 7588 Union Park Avenue, Midvale. Special guest speaker Marshall Moore. Event begins at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 for members, $25 for non-members. Both genders welcome. More info here.
  • Aug. 28: Music at Main at the Salt Lake City Library. Color Animal and Tolchock Trio will perform, 7 p.m. –9 p.m. Free admission.
  • Aug. 29: KUER curbside sale at the Eccles Broadcast center, 101 S. Wasatch Drive, Salt Lake. Noon to 6 p.m. More info here.
  • Aug. 30: Twilight Concert Series with COMMON and Ale Blacc at Pioneer Park. Gates open at 5 p.m.; tickets are $5.
  • Aug. 31: Street Legal Series at Rocky Mountain Raceway. $10 for adults, $5 for kids over 5 years old. Gates open at 4 p.m. More info here.
  • Sept. 2: Salt Lake City Jazz Festival at the Gallivan Center, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. More info here.

Utah Valley- Aug. 27: Museum Mondays: Raptor who Swallowed the Shell at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. 5 p.m.–7 p.m. $8 for children, $10 for adults. Free admission for members.

  • Aug. 27: Diamond Rio in concert at the Scera Theatre, 699 S. State Street, Orem. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased here.
