OREM — Traffic is rolling again on I-15 in Utah County, but that was not the case earlier Thursday afternoon.
A dump truck towing a trailer full of gravel spilled its load just before noon.
Police investigators say the truck blew a tire, rolled, and spilled gravel on both directions of traffic. Both north- and southbound lanes were shut down, causing a traffic nightmare throughout Utah County.
It took a few hours, but crews were able to get the mess cleaned up and the freeway opened to traffic by 3 p.m.
