SALT LAKE CITY — Rocky Mountain Power employees showed their skills in the annual Lineman's Rodeo Saturday.
Sponsored by the power company and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the rodeo put linemen and journeymen in competition with each other in different events, including the speed climbing event that required workers to climb down a pole with a raw egg in their mouth without breaking it.
That event also serves as training for new linemen, getting them ready to safely maintain the poles and wires that provide the city with electricity. These poles can be up to 65-feet above the ground.
