(KSL News) It was a bizarre situation today when a man walked into the Legacy Retirement Community in Murray and started taking mail.

"I don't know what was going through his mind," Murray Police Detective Kenny Bass said. "It's just an odd situation."

A woman nearby saw what the man was doing and approached him. She told him he needed to put the mail back.

He told her he had a gun. Undeterred, she continued to tell him to put the mail back. He eventually did and left.

Police do not know who the man was or why he tried to take the mail. They would like to talk to him and ask him some questions.
