(KSL News) Lawyers for FLDS leader Warren Jeffs have told him to skip a pre-sentencing interview because they're afraid that what he says could incriminate him later.
Jeffs was convicted of rape as an accomplice last month for marrying an underage girl to her older cousin. He still faces similar charges in Arizona, along with federal charges on flight to evade prosecution.
Jeffs' lawyers say anything he says in the pre-sentencing interview could be used against him in those trials.
The sentencing will take place next month.
