"With the 47th pick in the second round the Seattle Seahawks select Bobby Wagner of Utah State." Those are the words Bobby Wagner has waited to hear all of his life.

But he almost didn't hear them. "I got up to go to the bathroom and everybody started screaming," Wagner said in a phone interview Friday night from his home in California. "So I had to hold it and answer the phone."

Wagner leaves Utah State as one of the Aggie's best linebackers in school history. Now he hopes to make a name for himself as a pro. "I expect to go in and challenge for playing time," Wagner emphatically told me.

So what's on the calendar for a guy that just got drafted into the NFL?

"I might go to Disneyland, I could go tonight because my sister works there and we can get in," he said. After Disneyland, Wagner will head back to Logan to graduate from Utah State with a business degree.

Now that Wagner has made it to the NFL don't expect him to change much, especially when it comes to his other passion - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That's right, big bad Bobby Wagner is a ‘turtle power' fanatic. He carried his TMNT backpack to most of his interviews with NFL head coaches the last couple of months. When I asked him what they thought of it, he said, "They like it. Nobody made fun of it."

I did a story with Bobby and his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle collection back in November 2011. You can watch it here.
