AP Photo / J. Scott Applewhite(KSL News) Mitt Romney says leaders of the LDS Church will have no influence on government policy if he is elected.
Speaking on a political talk show yesterday, Romney said that no president could take orders or even input from religious leaders. He also said LDS Church leaders would not try to influence him.
Romney's LDS faith has hurt him in the polls in some states, especially in South Carolina. However, he is still leading the pack in Iowa and New Hampshire.
