(KSL News) A new plan backed by the governor could help more Utahns find affordable housing.
Gov. Jon Huntsman said yesterday that he's committed to closing Utah's housing gap. The new plan is called the Utah WorkForce Housing Initiative.
The plan will help local community leaders plan affordable housing throughout the state. Cities have long said they need better resources to build realistic housing for their residents.
Vernal, Moab, Logan, Boulder and South Salt Lake are acting as pilot communities for the new initiative. In 2008 there will be statewide training sessions for all community leaders.
