OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Weber State guard Damian Lillard will bypass his final year of eligibility and declare for the NBA draft after one of the best individual seasons in school history.
The 21-year-old Lillard made his announcement Tuesday.
The native of Oakland, Calif., finished second in the country in scoring, averaging 24.5 points, five rebounds and four assists en route to his second Big Sky MVP award.
The 6-foot-3 Lillard is considered one of nation's top point guards and projected to go as high as No. 9 in June's draft.
Lillard finished his career No. 2 on Weber State's all-time scoring list with 1,934 points. His 784 points and 94 3- pointers were Wildcat single-season records.
He scored in double figures in all 32 games this season.
