SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a man they say robbed three restaurants within two hours Wednesday night.

The crime spree began around 8 p.m. at a Wendy's restaurant at 10665 S. Automall Drive in Sandy, then a Subway restaurant at 4929 S. State Street in Murray was hit. The third location was the KFC at 6890 S. 2000 East in Cottonwood Heights.

Customers were inside the businesses when the robber hit. They gave responding officers the same suspect description: a white male 35 to 45 years old, either bald or with a buzz cut with a slight goatee, wearing a brown or black hoodie possibly with a Vans logo on it.

Police say the man never pulled a weapon but at each location handed over a note demanding money. Employees complied and he escaped with an undisclosed amount of money from each location. Investigators think he got away in a vehicle described only as a black four-door.

Police say it's brazen of the robber to hit three restaurants in a mater of 90 minutes. They're concerned he may think committing this type of crime is easy and do it again.

"This is a dangerous activity," said Sgt. Gary Young of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department. "He's threatening a firearm and we want to put a stop to it."

"I'm not sure what he's thinking of or if he planned to do three tonight, or four or five. Or maybe it just went off so well the first couple of times that he's going to keep doing it until we catch him," Young said.

Police are reviewing surveillance video in hopes of identifying the man.
