SALT LAKE CITY - The West Jordan Jaguars can thank the American Fork Cavemen for their new No. 1 ranking.

Top games to watch this week
No. 5 Logan at No. 4 Sky View Wednesday 7pm (Game of the Week)
The Grizzlies won the first meeting by one point in this rivalry. The Bobcats will be looking revenge with the winner taking sole possession of first place in Region 5.Weber at No. 5 Northridge Friday 7pm

The Bengals pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the season when they stunned West Jordan in an overtime thriller back in January. Now Jordan Loveridge is healthy and looking for revenge. Jordan at Copper Hills 7 p.m. Friday
The Beetdiggers and Grizzlies have a lot to play for on Friday. It's likely that the winner of this game will advance to the state tournament while the other team will likely miss the postseason with one game left on the schedule. Expect a playoff atmosphere that should bring out the best in both teams.State Wrestling Tournament
The best wrestlers in the state will be competing for glory this week at the UCCU center in Orem. The 5A/4A wrestling tournament will take lace on Wednesday and Thursday followed by the 3A/2A/1A tournament on Friday and Saturday. For a preview click here

American Fork defeated previous No. 1 and defending state champion Lone Peak on Friday 58-50. West Jordan defeated 4th ranked Alta on the road Friday taking control of the Region 3 race. The Jaguars were ranked No. 1 earlier this season until they were upset by Brighton in overtime on January 24th.

Northridge has been the biggest surprise in 5A this season. They avenged their only region loss on Friday against Fremont and hold on to their top five ranking.

The Orem Tigers clutch play at the end of games allows them to hold onto their top ranking in 4A. The Tigers needed a last second 3-pointer by Zach Hunsaker to defeat rival Mountain View on Tuesday night. The Tigers are 4-0 in games decided by 3 points or less.

Top five performances of the week
Jordan Loveridge, West Jordan
Loveridge looks to be back to top form after dealing with a mid-season injury. He scored 28 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in a huge region win over 4th ranked Alta.Jarom Tye, Viewmont
Tye recorded a double double with 27 points and 12 rebounds in an important region win over Hunter.Jordan Pryor, West Jordan
It looked like the Jaguars were about to suffer a stunning defeat to Copper Hills. Somehow Pryor made this shot to force overtime. The Jags won the game in double overtime thanks to Pryor's clutch shot and 26 points.Cody Benson, Bingham
Benson was red hot last Tuesday scoring a game-high 32 points including seven 3-pointers in a 78-67 win over Lehi.Brandon Simister, Desert Hills
Simister logged a triple-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a very important region win over Hurricane, 59-39.

The Tigers are followed by No. 2 Bountiful who continues to dominate Region 6. Skyline is No. 3 followed by Sky View and Logan. The Bobcats and Grizzlies will meet Friday in a rivalry game that could determine the Region 5 championship.

Desert Hills has a firm hold on No. 1 in 3A after convincing 20-point win over No. 3 Hurricane. The Thunder is followed by Judge who clinched the Region 10 championship with a win over Wasatch. Payson moves up to No. 3, Morgan is No. 4, while Hurricane drops to No. 5.

South Sevier held off rival Richfield to remain on top of the 2A poll. The Rams are followed by Wasatch Academy, Manti, South Summit and Waterford.

Bryce Valley is No. 1 in 1A followed by Piute, Panguitch, Duchesne and Green River.
