ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Two of the people accused in the slaying of 20-year-old Trisha Stubbs have pleaded guilty to lesser charges and have agreed to testify against a third suspect.
Kyle Sheldon Jensen, 20, and Tina Eileen Roberts, 34, pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony, in exchange for dropping of murder and obstruction of justice charges. Sentencing was set for May 10.
They agreed to testify against Jack Daniel Brown, 26, of Leeds.
Stubbs, 20, St. George, was beaten and bound with duct tape, driven to Toquerville Falls and shot to death. Her body was found on Jan. 7.
Jensen cried as 5th District Judge James L. Shumate read aloud from court documents saying, "He admits he was present when the victim was taken. He assisted in binding her with duct tape before carrying her to the vehicle and transporting her to where she was found."
Brown was arrested in Las Vegas in January on unrelated charges. Brian Filter, senior deputy Washington County attorney, said he will be extradited as soon as possible.
