OREM -- A public complaint has shut down a Fill the Boot campaign by Orem fightfighters.

The firefighters were raising money for Mike Stentzel, the young firefighter who suffered a stroke last month; he's in a coma.

His fellow firefighters have been trying to help Stenzel and his young family.

"It was a catastrophic stroke, so it's going to be a lifetime of medical bills and recovery. So we are trying to do what we can to help Mike and his wife. They are also expecting a child in two months."

City leaders say the firefighters' Fill the Boot campaign was stopped because of a no pan-handling ordinance.

Donations for Stentzel and his family can still be made at OremFireMike.com or at any Zions Bank branch.
