(KSL News) -- Authorities in Tooele County say a Utah Highway Trooper ran a red light before a messy accident yesterday.
They also told the Deseret Morning News the trooper had his light on, but no siren. They and estimate his speed at "80 plus" miles an hour.
The trooper collided with another car driven by a Grantsville woman and her two children inside who had entered the intersecection on a green light.
Police say the woman remains in serious condition. The children had minor injuries.
The Utah Highway Patrol declined to comment on the crash.
