SALT LAKE CITY -- A jersey fans created in honor of Denver Broncos' quarterback Tim Tebow is generating mixed reaction.

KTVQ in Billings, Mont., reports instead of Tebow's last name on the back of the jersey, it states "Jesus" along with Tebow's No. 15.

"I like Tebow, but that is just wrong," Christian missionary Jason Homer told The Christian Post. He and others say it's disrespectful to use Jesus Christ's name in that way.

But other Broncos fans who are Christian think it's a good promotion of their faith. One wrote, "altering the jersey ... to read 'Jesus' instead of 'Tebow' wouldn't seem over-the-top, particularly since (he) is so emphatically Christian."

Tebow says he is a Christian and has been open about his beliefs. Earlier this year, the former University of Florida player knelt in prayer on the field, unintentionally starting a new trend known as "Tebowing." While at Florida, he wrote scriptures on his eye black paint.

The Denver Channel.com reports, "While Tebow tweeted that he loved the Tebowing craze, he has not said anything on Twitter about the Jesus jerseys."

The Huffington Post reports the jerseys have been around since as long ago as this summer.
