MIDVALE — One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition Sunday evening after what police say was a gang-related drive-by shooting.
Police received a call of a shooting around 8 p.m. at the Green Leaf apartments, 7940 So. Main Street. Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said officers found a male teen with a gunshot wound.
The teen was taken to a nearby hospital. As of Sunday night, Hoyal said they were seeking a dark-colored, or silver, Oldsmobile Alero that was seen leaving the scene at the time of the shooting.
Officers have yet to identify the victim, but planned to send detectives to the hospital to question him. Hoyal said police do believe the shooting was gang-related.
