PROVO — A baseball bat, knives and bullwhip were all part of the mix during a confrontation Wednesday among two armed bandits and their intended victim.

The robbery happened at 11:34 p.m. at the Super 8 Motel, 1555 N. Canyon Road, said Provo Police Sgt. Mathew Siufanua.

Two men police identified as Kirk Virgil Worthen, 24, and Clayton Wade Ames, 27, went to the male victim's motel room armed with knives and a bullwhip, threatening him over an unpaid debt.

The victim, in turn, grabbed a baseball bat and then called police for help.

Both Worthen and Ames were arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.
