(KSL News) -- Olympic Gold Medalist Jimmy Shea wants a seat in the Utah House of Representatives.
Shea announced today he will run for House District 53. Representative David Ure is vacating that legislative seat.
Shea lives in Park City, where he won the first Olympic gold in men's skeleton during the 2002 Salt Lake Games.
Shea says he's excited to meet with constituents and discuss Utah's future.
