SALT LAKE CITY -- The lights are coming back on at eight University of Utah buildings that experienced a power outage earlier this morning.

The power went out around 2:15 a.m. Crews discovered a problem with a newer cable and have reroute the power through an older line while the cable is repaired.

The following buildings were affected:

  • Park
  • Fletcher Physics
  • Browning
  • Sutton
  • Cowles
  • INSCC (Intermountain Network Scientific CC)
  • Naval Sciences
  • Steam Plant

The University now says all classes will be held on the regular schedule.

Students, faculty and staff who work or take classes in those buildings were originally asked to check for possible class and work schedule changes.
