Mary Richards ReportingThe Draper City Council could vote tonight on a controversial ordinance over a thrift store.

Some say this ordinance is designed to keep a DI out of Draper's east side. City Councilman Jeff Stenquist says the ordinance is about planning for the future.

Jeff Stenquist, Draper City Councilman Jeff Stenquist: "We have a lot of businesses that are interested in locating in our city, and if that happens we need to be proactive."

The ordinance would restrict large thrift stores to a zone west of the freeway. The LDS Church reportedly has its eye on a five-acre spot east of the freeway for a DI.
