SALT LAKE CITY -- As the Cougars and the Utes get ready for the big rivalry game this weekend, some fans are wondering if we can't get rid of the game's unofficial nickname.
Not everyone hates the nickname "The Holy War." One BYU student tells KSL, "'The Holy War' is fine by me. Why not?"
But, it does rub some people the wrong way, saying it feels like a religious jab. A BYU student who likes the nickname told us he could see why other people wouldn't.
"I guess, if you put too much weight in it, I could see why people would be offended," he said.
So, what should we rename it?

We did get some suggestions like "The Jell-O Bowl" and "The Battle for the Ol' Bowl of Fry Sauce." One listener of KSL's The Browser texted in "Uncle Gummy's Pride Parade." (I'm making an executive decision and passing on those names.)
Another was "The Red vs. Blue Battle." Two people I spoke with compared it to the video game Halo.
"[It's] the Halo kind of thing, you know. Blue vs. Red. Red vs. Blue," said one man.
Some people tied the rivalry to the Wasatch Mountains. We got suggestions like "War for the Wasatch," "Wasatch Rumble," and the "Beehive Brawl."
Of course, not everyone came up with an idea. I met a man from New York who was no help at all.
I'd say something you couldn't publish, much less broadcast," he said.
