BLUFFDALE — Early voting lasted only two days in Bluffdale after a pair of candidates withdrew from the City Council race and eliminated the need for a primary.

Jewel K. Skousen pulled out of the race Wednesday, leaving six candidates in the race for three at-large council seats. Don Mortimer withdrew his name from consideration in mid-August, Mayor Derk Timothy said.

Early voting at Bluffdale City Hall was canceled Thursday. All vote-by-mail ballots that have been mailed will be returned, city officials said.

Incumbent councilmen Troy Chisholm and Bruce Kartcher are joined in the City Council race by challengers C. Nick Berry, Ty Nielsen and Heather Pehrson.

Early voting for the general election begins Oct. 25.
